Getting to Know Mrs. McCreesh

A little about me.  I have two children Paityn (3) and Jaxyn (1.5).  I love going to the beach and spending time outdoors.  I am also a Disney fanatic!  This is my 7th year teaching in Howell Township.  I have been teaching preschool all of those years. One year at Newbury School and the others here at Land O’ Pines.  Go Pirates! Teaching preschool is fun and rewarding and I look forward to this school year with all of you.

Items your child will need for preschool

  • Backpack
  • Snackbag
  • Extra set of clothes Please label the clothing and place them in a zip-lock bag. These bags will be kept in our bathroom, which is located in our classroom. *It is recommended to wear closed-toe shoes to school to protect their toes.
  • If your child is not yet toilet trained- we will need diapers or pull-ups and wipes, labeled please.
  • Masks-please send in two extra masks to be kept in your child’s backpack in a ziplock bag, labeled with your child’s name. Please check this bag daily to make sure there are always two extra masks available in case they are needed during the school day.
  • Lanyard- a lanyard isn’t required, only suggested. When the children have snack, a mask lanyard would keep their masks from getting dirty or from a child accidentally putting on someone elses mask.

At this initial stage of opening, we will be having snack twice a day. Please send in 2 drinks and 2 snacks, whatever you are comfortable sending for your child to eat/drink.

School Day

The school day hours during Phase 1 are 8:35-12:50.

Cohort A- Monday/Tuesday

Cohort B- Thursday/Friday

Wednesday-virtual opportunities for all learners

Your child will have a large ziplock bag in class with his/her name on it.  This bag will hold curriculum materials, books, crayons, dry erase boards, etc.  The children will not be sharing materials or toys with each other.  Everything the children play with will be cleaned before another child will be allowed to play with it.

Please be sure to fill out all emergency cards and related information as soon as possible.

A paper will be sent home asking questions about your child’s preferences as well as whether you would like for your email and phone number to be included in our class directory.  Please fill this out and return it to school as soon as possible (It is my hope that this will be one of our only hard copy papers sent home this year-the rest will be digital).

Sign up for a Tools of the Mind Portal.  This is our curriculum portal and we will use this account to communicate curriculum information with you as well as opportunities for remote instruction.  More information will be forthcoming regarding the site and how to access it.

A Digital Note Is Needed…

Something different this year, all communication will be digital.  Below is the google docs form for sending notes to the front office.  If you are sending a note to the office regarding pick-up or drop off, if you could please also email me so I am also aware (

The following is the link for digital notes:

At Dismissal Time:

If someone other than a parent, such as a family member or friend, is picking up your child, please send an email letting us know. We will not give your child to someone we do not know. Please ask the person picking up your child to have their ID ready to show us

Picking your child up early:

If you are picking your child up earlier than regular dismissal time, please send a digital note to the office and then email me.

If you know your child is going to be absent please fill out the digital note for the school and send me a quick email to let me know.

Our communication will consist of phone calls, emails, and messages through the Tools of the Mind Portal (this will replace the previously used system, Class Dojo, that many of you might be familiar with).  It is our hope that this Portal will serve as one spot to service many of our needs.  During these unusual times, communication is key.  Please, if at any time you have questions or concerns, feel free to contact me.
